Obamacare And They Expected What?
So the story goes that Kathleen Sebelius was speaking at the Harvard School of Public Health and she ranted that the roll out/implementation of Obamacare wasn't going well. There was something about her not understanding how complex the procedure would be. She blames it on everything but the law itself and how it was written and its sheer volume.
According to the HHS Secretary it has become mired down in politics. What did she expect with the passage of a very unpopular law that remains unpopular to this day as we "find out what is in it." The administration was hoping that once the SCOTUS ruled and the election came and went that everyone would roll over and play dead and the masses would loudly cheer how great it is. That hasn't happened. In fact, the law stood because it was ruled a "tax" even though Obama said at the onset that it wasn't a tax. But a tax is a tax and the American tax payer grows weary of being excessively taxed. The sheer volume of Obamacare taxes haven't even been realized yet as the program rolls out.
We were sold a bill of goods and it was thinly disguised as a sheep in wolves clothing for the sheeple of the nation. They thought, and many still think, that there is such a thing as a free lunch. How is any nation going to insure 30 million uninsured people and costs not rise? That's the way it was sold and it just isn't so.
It's That Time!
What happened was they front loaded any features that they considered "goodies" to the people so that the poison pill would go down easier with the public as the real roll out hit the pavement. Many of said "public" were stupid enough not to recognize how our professional pickpockets in the nation's Capitol work. They were too busy focusing on another freebie they thought was going to be tossed their way.
Two things are readily apparent at this juncture. Well more than two but here we go. The majority of the states don't want the mandated health care exchanges. The SCOTUS ruling took the mandate out of that mandate. So now it appears the health care exchanges are in a total disarray and they probably aren't going to go down on time. Only 17 states and the District of Columbia are setting up their own exchanges. They bit the bait without regard to the hook. Compound the problem by the recent revelation that the cost of implementing said exchanges has now doubled to $4.4 billion. Whoops how did that happen? If you don't know that then you don't need to be voting in any future elections.
We were also sold the idea that health insurance premiums were going to go down. That hasn't happened and probably never will when the federal government is involved in anything where they don't belong. That would be in most places in our daily lives. Well I'll be if Sebelius herself wasn't the first Obamaite to admit that premiums would naturally increase under the law.
Then right behind Sebelius comes Senator Jay Rockefeller from West Virginia with his latest lament about Obamacare. You see he was one of the chief designers/architects of this whole 2,400 page mess. He's now blasting program managers for the law claiming they aren't moving fast enough to implement the fiasco that he helped create. Typical political talking head is what I consider him. Money does buy office in his case.
Now according to old Jay if it gets off to a bumpy start it gets worse. Well, howdy do to that concept. It was unpopular from the get go so why did they ram it down our throats Jay Boy? Lets do a reality check with Jay.
1) Did premiums go down Jay? Are they projected to as we were told? No!
2) Are people being allowed to keep their own doctor? That isn't happening nor will it even though Obama said it was so.
3) The exchanges are in a helter skelter state and that probably isn't going to get better. Without the exchanges will the law even be able to stand without the American tax payer once again having to bail out another failed government program?
4) Say your state has an exchange. Are you ready to fill out the 61 page application that the IRS requires. That's just to see if you qualify folks not how much it's going to cost you.
So according to the fine Senator from West Virginia things are going to get even worse if things aren't done right the first time around. He should have thought about that concept being applied to the very process of how a law is passed in the first place. 2,400 pages of crap is still a huge pile of crap.
Don't Worry - Coming To An Obamaville Near You Soon!.
So get this. HHS estimated that the cost to just help set up these mystical exchanges was going to be $2 billion. That would be for all of the the states. Now the figure has changed to $4.4 billion and read above how many are involved. You didn't expect the federal government to do anything under, or at, cost did you? Really? Jay this whole fiasco is going into a nose dive. Mark my words.
QUOTE OF THE DAY FROM ROCKEFELLER HIMSELF: I’m of the belief that the ACA is probably the most complex piece of legislation ever passed by the United States Congress. Tax reform, obviously, is gonna be huge, too, but up to this point it’s just beyond comprehension.
Complex and the federal government are not a good fit. Never has been and never will be.
