Looking Over The Edge

Updated on September 12, 2012

I'm Not Seeing Grandma At The Bottom At All

Things are an absolute mess right now and all I see in the Oval Office is an empty chair. The President of the United States is off all over the nation selling his brand of false snake oil (formerly known as hope and change) and not tending to the nation's business as usual. There is a reason he is known as The Campaigner-In-Chief. Maybe it has something to do with that is what he is really good at and likes to do. He does love the limelight and his teleprompter. But then again what good is having an empty suit sitting in what is normally an empty chair.

We see the results of almost 4 years of failed policies (Obamanomics) and this narcissistic personality is out there begging the electorate to give him four more years to finish the destruction of a nation which he began in January of 2009. I am always amazed when I hear a far left talking head, including Obama himself, claim that the recession was worse than anyone had thought. By all accounts my research indicates that this administration declared that the recession was over in August of 2009 and we were going to have a Summer of Recovery in 2010. Neither of those really happened. Did them saying it make you feel good?

The Nation Needs Leadership. Obama Doesn't Do That!

We've got The Muslim Botherhood crowd invading our embassy in Egypt, tearing down our flag and raising an Islamic flag. in Libya our Ambassador and several other Americans have been killed and the embassy torched, our President refusing to meet with the Prime Minister of Israel about the Iranian problem (the administration as usual denies it - see the last bullet on the chart above) and Moody's has just announced that it is set to downgrade the nation's credit rating after previously tagging us with a negative outlook.

NOTE: "Looking at the White House calendar, there is no public record of President Barack Obama attending his daily intelligence briefing--known as the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB)--in the week leading up to the attacks on the U.S. embassy in Cairo and the murder of U.S. Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens and three American members of his staff." Fact is he has been ignoring those briefings too.

Where is Obama? Not in Washington DC where he should be and not leading like he should be and never has. He's out doing what he does best. Begging voters to send him back for more destruction. If he hadn't failed so miderably in his first term he wouldn't have to be out there begging and pleading his cased. This guy makes the Jimmie Carter administration seem like a dream.

What I'm about to say I have written about before. This is a combination of things and deals with the budget and the lack thereof. The focus of this election needs to be the economy and not all these side show social issues that the DNC presented during their convention. Not one word was uttered during those 3 days about the national debt sailing by the $16 trillion mark, not one word. Obama sure wasn't going to trumpet how he has single handedly done in less than 4 years what Presidents 1 through 42 couldn't accomplish collectively. He has added $5.4 trillion to the debt. He promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. Do you see that happening or are you accepting every excuse the man has to give for failing to do so?

The Democratic Problem

I'll put a link down at the bottom so you can read about a Roundtuit. No matter what Obama says about the credit rating agencies not meaning diddly as he did when S & P downgraded our debt rating (another first in history for Obama - Yippee!) if Moody's downgrades us it will have some serious implications on this nation's ability to borrow any more money. Moody's is a little more polite in their phrasing than I am but I'm not Moody's. I'm going to call it exactly like I see it without any attempt at political correctness.

The Obama Administration has not passed a budget since it assumed office. Any budget that Obama has presented has not garnered one vote, even from his own party. At the beginning of this administration the Democrats held both houses of Congress and got so busy doing other things that they failed to submit and pass an annual budget as required by federal law. The explanation at the time was "we didn't have time to get a round to it." 2010 came and the House was returned to a semblance of sanity. Budgets have been submitted by the House to the Senate the last two Congresses and the US Senate, still under Democratic control, refuses to have anything to do with proposing, much less passing a federal budget. It isn't a matter of having time to get a ROUNDTUIT, it's a matter of they don't want to do it.

Now how do you think the major credit rating agency view that sort of nonsense? Moody's issued the warning when the idiots up there wrangled over raising the debt limit. How about we lower spending? That's what the normal household has to do when it reaches the crisis point. It's either that or bankruptcy here we come.

Then there was a smoke and mirrors commission established and Obama had to know damned well that no sort of agreement was going to come out of that and automatic cuts would kick in. It was structured and staffed by Congress that way. You keep hearing about reaching the fiscal cliff so let me explain to you how the world of credit raters see it. We're looking right over the edge again right now.

If Congress does not reach a budget deal and many don't have that happening because Congress hasn't passed one in almost 4 years we reach the "fiscal cliff." On January 2 there will be $1.2 trillion in spending cuts and tax increases automatically kicked in. That's what the world of finance refers to as the "fiscal cliff. Economists with a brain, not the Keynesian types Obama likes to employ, predict that the "kick in" will send the economy back into recession and drive unemployment up. Now that's all we need with already 23 million people out of work or under employed, and where the #%^& IS Obama? Out on the campaign trail selling snake oil is where. Moody's put a negative on us last year for failure to have a budget and having to raise the debt limit again. I don't think they are playing and issuing idle threats this time around. The US Senate has once again failed to do its primary job as required by law. I have to believe that one Harry Reid and one Barack Obama are in cahoots about not pasing a budget. Without a budget we see the type of spending we've seen since Obama was inaugurated. The tax and spend party had a lot of pent up spending energy and they let loose with it and want to do more.

Folks, it's time to stop. Seriously it is. It won't be Granny at the bottom of the cliff if we don't. It will be this nation. All of us collectively and it won't spare our kids, our grand kids or ourselves. You can continue to think everything is going to be alright and believe what ideologues like Obama say in order to get reelected but the real world is now knocking at the door.

  • Unemployment above 8% for 43 consecutive months. 23 million people out of work or underemployed.
  • National debt increased to $16 trillion in less than 4 years. Promises to cut it in half were lies.
  • Median household income down $4,300.00 during Obama's tenure.
  • Gasoline prices just hit the $3.86 mark. How's your wallet feeling?

"You Either Get Free Stuff or You Get Freedom"

It's either time for us to push back from the edge or let Obamanomics blow us over the edge of the cliff onto the rocks below. Will Congress get aroundtuit? In a major election year those cats are more interested in their skin than they are in yours. They're cushions on their seats are in jeopardy.

The other thing Moody's noted in their alert that on top of the budget issue that before the end of the year it appears that the nation will again reach its debt limit. What does that mean? If I have to draw you a picture about that issue you're lost.

Would you expect the President of the United States to stop his campaign trip, cancel his appearance in Las Vegas and return to our nation's Capitol with the amount of sheer lunacy roiling around us? Don't. He has every intention of campaigning on. Don't believe me? Fact check me.

As Always,

The Frog Prince
