Keeping Things In "Context"

Updated on July 28, 2012

Dot Connecting Is An Art

This is turning into the most pathetic Presidential campaign I have ever witnessed and in the 40 years I've been watching I've seen a few. Those I refer to as the Lame Stream Media have done a wonderful job of protecting Obama's incompetence since he assumed office. What I think they rely on is the short attention span of the average American as we struggle to keep up with the daily task of living while putting up with the consistent incompetence of the past three plus years since a superb con man appeared selling hope and change to people already weary of too much government being shoved down our gullets.

The media apologists are hard at work spinning his latest statements and claiming that their skilled orator is being taken out of context once again. Only they are wise enough to understand "what he really meant" and the rest of us unclean, government subjects just don't understand his eloquence which is usually delivered in a snarky manner. I once dubbed Obama as "Snarky Smirksalot" and lately he has been working on regaining that title. His totally outlandish claims about how effective his failed policies have been seem to be reaching a crescendo, but I'm sure he has some outrageous oratory left inside of him for future display.

His Biggest Mistake Was What?

Connecting dots about Obama takes patience. The ones I'm about to connect are recent blips and I'll keep them as much "in context" as I can when he said them. The Charlie Rose interview on ABC was revealing on a number of points. Lets refer to Obama and "story telling" which he contends he hasn't been good enough at. I disagree. Obama has told more outright stories, many call them lies, to convince not only himself but way too many people that he had, has and will have the answers if We, the People just give him another chance. According to him his biggest mistake was putting policy over story telling. You can spin things all you want about a failed policy and in the end the result will be the same. You'll have a failure on your hands. That is a lesson evidently Obama has failed to learn nor do I see him learning it. He is all about excuses.

During that same interview Obama let a little honesty slip out. Sometimes that happens when the teleprompter isn't speaking and he is. Next dot to connect is what he said to Charlie concerning his record, his failed record, on fixing the economy. That is something he told us all that he has the knowledge of economics to do, while at the same time admitting he knows nothing about the subject. I'd rehash the clip now where he talked about being "a one term proposition" if he didn't but most people have seen it. So here's what he said about how he'd approach his opponent based upon what we see surrounding him. Take a listen.

Lets Look At Your Record And He Did...

Obama is pretty slippery as most snake oil salesmen are. He can tell a "story." The fact is that this economy is now the "Obama economy." It isn't Bush's fault. It's Obama's failed policies that exacerbated an already bad situation. So Rose laid out the argument about the economy and this is how Obama responded, at that time anyway, “Exactly. That is his argument and you don’t hear me complaining about making that argument because if I was in his shoes I’d be making the same argument.” There are a lot of shoes involved in having to understand that Obama isn't qualified, nor has the experience, to run this nation. He can run it but right into the ground isn't what most of us had in mind.

What I heard in that exchange was the context that Obama admitted that his policies have failed and he didn't do what he said he was going to do. Therefore in the future when it is pointed out to him that his policies have failed they should expect him to say, "Exactly." That is exactly what he said in the context he said it in, nothing more and nothing less.

If You Ever Had It...

So then after a brief interlude where Obama told the nation that the "private sector is doing fine" which he immediately had to start walking back saying that isn't what he meant, blah, blah, blah... Next dot up was the "If you've got a business, you didn't do that. Somebody else made that happen." These dots are starting to look like a Rorschach blot aren't they? We again got the "out of context" tap dance and have been getting it for a couple of weeks now from the very same people who explain to us that Obama is coherent, intelligent and a master at speaking. Really? What keeps coming through to me is his condescending arrogance actually.

I've read so many "out of context" explanations from the left since he stated what he really means and they want to put entirely different words in his mouth. What he said seems totally in context and exactly what he said. These are "off teleprompter moments" and what one really needs to listen for. When the screen goes off what he really thinks rolls out, even if it is just "story time."

So lets just add insult to injury after that gaffe, which wasn't a gaffe at all, and roll out the most absurd contention he can possibly make in an attempt at completing a coherent picture. Now keep in mind when you watch the video here that you can only hear the background noise of the crowd he is addressing. This just occurred in Oakland, California. He is hardly looking, nor acting presidential, with the diatribe and outright fairy tale he is selling. More snake oil for the adoring masses. Do they pay people to attend these rallies he conducts? It would never be enough to get me to attend one however much it is.

It worked? When?

All the previous dots I mentioned above don't add up to this last dot on the blot. Employment remains at over 8% even though his stimulus policy was a failure at doing what he told the nation it would do. That cost us about a trillion and he wants to do it again. It is estimated that there are between 15-24 million eligible workers in this nation who are chronically unemployed or under employed. He has added over 5 trillion dollars to the national debt which he told us he was going to cut in half by the end of his first term. How does Obama measure success? Go back to the Rose interview above and then try to rationalize what he said about his plan working?

Let me note here that the latest spin correction was that Obama was talking about the Clinton policies while speaking in Oakland. Seems odd that his success was achieved, if that is Obama's definition, with a Republican Congress which Clinton was able to work with. Looking back at the transcript of that speech I can't see the parallel at all. He was talking about himself again, not Bill Clinton.

And that's why he's running for another term? Any more "working" like what he has destroyed so far will be the death of our Republic. I will now close with this video from the beginning of 2009. You made your case and you failed Obama. It's now time to man up and accept both responsibility and accountability. It worked your butt...
