"Hope" For A Sincere Obama?

Updated on March 11, 2013

Take It From Bill Barack!

One can hope for many things but a 'sincere' Obama is not one of them. Obama has wined and dined Republican Congressional leaders as they head into the coming budget battles and I'm sure their little tummies are appeased having viewed the overpriced vittles that we, the tax payer, paid for. Keep in mind that these days of sequestration are meant to be tough, just not on our political elite.

So now it appears that Obama is going to put his 'sincere face' on once again. I'm beginning to think he has a warehouse full of them lined up for any occasion. One of two things will be the case as I see it. Either Obama has decided to open up a charm school or he might actually be sincere. Put your money on the charm also known as beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing.

This whole change of strategy doesn't pass the smell test. He has continually made it his political tacit to blame the Republicans, especially the House of Representatives, for his failure to lead. Maybe he went through the George Patton speed leadership course recently. I doubt it though. Usually if something is totally out of character then it stinks. He never wooed Congress since he was elected in 2008 so why is he going to start now. Even when he had both Houses of Congress he was standoffish.

There is a distinct difference between being a politician, which Obama is consummate at, and being a leader which he knows little about. His preferred method, even of late after he was at the end of needing to campaign, is to continue to campaign. That's the one thing he knows how to do. Campaigning is not 'leadership.' It is a form of charm school. Lets just get out there and tell the slobbering masses how marvelous Barack is and have them believe him.

The night Rand Paul was conducting a filibuster on the floor of the Senate Obama was wining and dining the Senate RINOs telling them how gracious he would be if they toed the line for him. He put on his best "I'm willing to compromise face" for them. i can only hope that they know darned well the man doesn't have the word "compromise" in his vocabulary other than to use it only as a word.

Need I Say More About Compromise?

So this week he plans to actually go up onto Capitol Hill to visit both parties in their chambers which should prove interesting. I have it being no more than a public relations ploy. Somehow Obama's past actions have left a bad taste in my mouth about his motives. It is speculated that he is going up there to broker some sort of "grand bargain." His past form of bargaining has been the "my way or the highway' type of negotiations (Obamacarre comes to mind) so our law makers better be paying close attention to every word that comes out of his teleprompter's mouth.

His last move was to go out on the campaign trail calling for more taxes after they gave him the tax increase he asked for to avoid the fiscal cliff. He promised 2 and a half dollars in corresponding spending cuts for every dollar of tax increase but then conveniently forgot about his end of the deal. He thinks he can tax his way out of the looming national debt debacle. It's not going to happen because they isn't that much money in our pockets to safe their irresponsible butts.

Paul Ryan, on a Sunday talk show said, "I hope this is sincere." Paul? You still believing in that hope and change routine. Believe your eyes, not your ears.
