Fact Checking A Lie

Updated on August 27, 2012

Some One Grab The Fire Hose

This One Deserves At Least 4 Pinocchios

The latest spin out of The Whine House has Obama creating more jobs since he took office than Ronald Reagan. That's about as stupid, and probably the most desperate lie, I've heard uttered by Team Obama. Who had the balls to utter such a lie? First of all it came out during an MSNBC interview which is akin to the Cartoon Channel airing political commentary, and it was none other than Stephanie Cutter. That's the woman who wouldn't know the truth if it bit her on her butt. She seems to speak for Obama a lot. When he isn't lying then rest assured she'll be doing it for him.

Here's what she said and lets do a little fact checking. Liberals are allergic to facts but they are usually so refreshing. Here's the quote from Cutter, "over the past, you know, 27 months we've created 4.5 million private-sector jobs. That's more jobs than in the Bush recovery (or) in the Reagan recovery."

Stephanie Is Giving Barak A Run For His Money

The first bit of fallacy I keep hearing come out of this administration over and over is that "they created 4.5 million private sector jobs." Someone explain to these nitwits that the federal government doesn't "create job." That is not the role of the federal government in the first place. The private sector creates jobs, the federal government creates misery. At best the federal government, if it creates any jobs, they are either transitory or bureaucratic. Now I do admit that Obama has expanded the federal bureaucracy by 17% since taking office but that is something he promised not to do so they will remain mute on that point.

The debunking of Team Obama's lies is always satisfying since the likes of Cutter can do it with a straight face just like her boss. Lets go there by looking at a graph that ironically was put out by none other than the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Not Nuclear Science To Read This Graph

Source

Looking at the graph it is readily apparent that at no point in the trajectory of the charting does any job growth under Obama com close to the highs achieved in the Reagan Administration. Every time I witness Obama, or his team, compare itself to Ronald Reagan I cringe. Obama is no Ronald Reagan. Just the mere mention of Reagan shows me the desperation of Team Obama. They want to compare their failures to his successes? Surely no one is going to buy that one.

Statistically speaking, the Reagan workforce was about a third smaller than the present workforce. Done strictly mathematically as a percentage of the work force, the Reagan administration's graphic trajectory would be much steeper than what you see in the BLS graph above.

Just for "understanding's sake" I will throw out actual numbers for your viewing pleasure. I won't apologize for giving you more verifiable facts. The Reagan admin added approximately 9.8 million NFP jobs. That stands for nonfarm payroll work in BLS speak. Bear in mind this discussion is post recession and covers a 37 month span of time. Obama comes in at 2.7 million NFP jobs so what is the difference? A little over 7 million jobs. I'm not sure where cutter got her information because they just say it like its true and the sheeple feed on it.

Numbers don't usually lie so how many jobs would Obama have had to "create" in order to mirror Reagan's recovery? Try 14 million since the recession ended supposing the fact the the recession actually ended. That depends upon who one asks I reckon. Ask someone unemployed and you'll get a totally different answer than the one Stephanie is spinning.

For the facts checkers and mathematicians out there the Obama administration has added less than 20% of the needed numbers for comparison. Whoops!

I Bet They Believe In Fairy Tales Too!

Ever read the Investor's Business Daily? Here's a fact or two to go along with the rest of the unemployment picture that is trying to "not be talked about" by Team Obama. Here's the way they summarized Stephanie's outright lie:

"What's more, after 29 months of allegedly stellar job growth under Obama, the jobless rate is still 8.3%. By this point in the Reagan and Bush jobs recoveries, the unemployment rate was 7.2% and 4.9%, respectively. If we were one of those fact-checking organizations, we'd give Stephanie Cutter the "Lying Liar from Liersburg" award."

I wasn't sure exactly where Liersburg was until this latest lie. Now I know it's somewhere within The Whine House.

Remember In November!

I used the PolitiFact meter logo here. That may be the only use I have for that forum. It appears that they have no intention of pointing out Cutter's pants on fire lie about this sort of conduct continuing on. I reckon one has to do something if they're trying to get reelected based upon being a failure.

I went and saw 2016, The Movie last night. I highly recommend that everyone who has any intention of voting in November go and see the documentary. It explains a lot about why Obama sees his world as he does.

As Always,

The Frog Prince
