Elections Have Consequences

Updated on November 13, 2012

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but as Obama himself has said, "Elections have consequences." Now for the nuts out there who voted to have him destroy the nation's economy for 4 more years I will not be sympathetic if the current wave of reactions throughout the business community come knocking at your door. If you had been paying attention to the economic conditions of this nation rather than your own personal goody basket then you would have thought out the consequences.

I haven't written since the election because I wanted to sense some of the coming back blast from the business community itself as I am a small business owner myself. Between absorbing what many liberals will obviously ignore and attending meetings and tending to phone calls I've been a tad busy. I've had a couple of lefties come along here and there and gloat but somehow I believe the people who had common sense will have the last gloat. There is a coming economic storm so don't say you weren't warned.

Today I received a solicitation for a tee shirt that describes liberalism and the situation quite well. Prominently displayed on the front is: "Moochers Electing Looters To Steal From Producers." That describes thew results of reelecting Obama and those who acted before they thought it totally through. Now the question I have to ask myself is at what point in time did this country move from a nation of producers to a nation of moochers. Was it when we started electing the looters and let them remain in office for too long? Everyone remembers the definition of insanity as doing the same thing (electing professional pick pick pockets over and over again) and expecting a different result. The founding fathers just flipped over in their graves I can assure you. I'm going somehwere with this so hang on.

For those of us who are paying attention, have you noticed that immediately after the election the stock market began to plunge and has registered some big losses every day since? It's called a lack of confidence and now uncertainty has been replaced with certainty. Hundreds of points have been flushed down the tubes since the moochers got their will at the ballot box. That fact isn't in dispute though a lefty here or there might place the blame elsewhere.

My next exhibit can be found at the link below. There is an audio there from a radio interview with a business owner out in Vegas that had to layoff 22 employees the day after the election and he explains why and it is interesting to note the composition of the people losing their jobs. You're about to see a lot of this coming straight at you and it isn't about "revenge" as some will try to contend but about the economic reality of business decisions. For a nine-to-five clock puncher I know it might be hard to wrap your head around it. The audio here is very revealing.

Then another article caught my attention which makes the situation in Las Vegas with "David" pale. Again another consequence of having reelected a man who knows nothing about running a business much less this nation. I'll now call him the "Looter-In-Chief. We'll now be moving "FORWARD" to the Obama layoffs.

This next link will take you to an article about the coming avalanche of what will surely follow these rather large companies and what they are being faced with since Tuesday of November 6th. If you work for any of these concerns you might want to reach down and grab your ankles. Again this isn't about "revenge" but economic reality and survival.

Some of the biggies mentioned here are Boeing, Westinghouse, Hawker Beechcraft, Husqvarna, Darden Restaurants, Rockwell Collins, and Rocketdyne just to mention a few. Layoff notices are going out. Foward they have to go to survive. Even before the results of the election some biggies had already moved "forward" with the layoff notices during the previous month. Giants like Cummins, Zynga, Bristol Myers, Corning. Dow Chemical and a list others. Again I don't think enough people understand the atmosphere that Obama has created for making business decisions.

There are also some side notes in the article about some of the "consequences" that workers will now face because companies, large or small doesn't matter, now that the consequences of having Obamacare fully implemented hit home.

Here's an excerpt from one article on the subject:

Cook Medical put plans for five new U.S. manufacturing facilities on hold and will likely redirect growth overseas. Boston Scientific recently announced a $150 million investment in China over the next five years for new manufacturing facilities and 1,000 employees.

Costs will be offset with layoffs, cutting R&D, and higher prices to their customers, hospitals and provider groups. Hospitals will pass it to insurance providers, who will pass it to us in higher insurance premiums.

This is not going to be a pretty picture. But those who wanted their Obamaphones, food stamps and handouts better enjoy what they are getting for free temporaily. You see, there really is no such things as a free lunch. Socialism is fine until you run out of other people's money. How shortsighted can the electorate be? We just witnessed it.

Maybe when your worst fears are realized you'll wake up. Too late but you'll at least be awake.
