A New Normal? Why?

Updated on November 13, 2013

I've been hearing it, and know you have too. The new normal is this or the new normal is that. First, lets back up and define normal for me. Then I was just reading about the "new normal" and expectations,.

That disturbed me because I grew up expecting to get out of anything whatever I put into it. It has always worked in the past so why change that? Because a guy like Obama said it should be so? I don't think so.

So I put some thought into this "new normal" conversation and wondering what was wrong with the "old normal." What I was reading referred to the American public having low expectations about our government. Since we pay those people, and pay them well let me add, I wondered why that perception could become a "new normal." If that form of thinking starts permeating the minds of the youth in this nation we are surely screwed.

government Intervention? The New Normal?

I recently completed a series on unemployment and how it has become the ":new normal" that we're just supposed to get used to. Really? That's a new normal? So if that is the "new normal" who is going to pay for that? The old normal is there is "no free lunch" so the new normal is what? A free chicken in every pot?

The "new normal" is anemic economic growth? Is that what y'all want? We have a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) less than 3%. More often it has been below 2% under this administration. You okay with that too? That's going to be the new normal for your kids and their kids and so forth and so on? You're content passing on such a legacy? Your parents weren't more than likely. You're just content with settling for whatever you can get. Is that it?

Obamacare is another prime example. We're going to settle for a broken whatever it is supposed to be system that is the most important thing to our continued health and existence. That's what Obama and his minions call the "new normal." You were content with your insurance and your doctors but now find out Obama lied to you over and over and you will accept that. That the "new normal" too?

The New Normal In American Leadership?

The "new normal" seems to be to pass voluminous laws without the people we send to do our will bothering to read a word of it before voting for it. We just need to follow along rather than us being in charge as the Constitution says it should be. Ever wonder why there is so much fraud, waste and abuse rampant throughout our federal government? Now you know the new normal - waste our money.

The "new normal" is for you to be subservient. Just settle for reduced opportunities and all the government failures we continue to witness one after another. Look at the facts. We are being soaked to the extreme in taxes to the tune of 3.5 trillion a year and counting. Taxation is a form of "compulsive force" and has nothing to do with your freedom in most cases. The government wants you to be dependent and it is in full view. Look at the welfare state and then look over at subsidizing corporations and everything else they can throw money at to gain more control. It is out of control.

Open your eyes and see which end is up before it's too late. How do we turn it around? One thing is for sure. Obama doesn't have the answer nor does some official government program that only puts us deeper into the mire.

Does the "new normal" mean the acceptance of failure with our tax dollars? Too many people have no skin in the game any more it seems. Obama started off with the biggest spending spree this nation has ever witnessed and hopefully will never see again. It became a "friends payback program" for helping elect this hapless fraud. The "new normal" is to label every thing an emergency and rule by crisis management.

He set a new bar with expanding the federal bureaucracy and expanded it by 17%. He promised to scrub it so he gave us a new normal about that concept too. Once a federal agency is created it becomes like a tumor. It just keeps growing and getting worse. It's like the expansion of freebies and we see it all over the world now. As you give away the goodies don't expect it to be easy to take them back. Human greed doesn't work like that.

Obama's newest normal is to crow about how he has cut the budget deficit which is an absolute lie in view of what he initially said. The Democrats are puffing up those chicken chests and crowing about a 680 billion dollar deficit. That's an accomplishment? In comparison to what? Don't even try the Bush deficits because the facts aren't on your side. That last figure is $230 billion above the worst Bush effort. I won't remind you of how irresponsible and unpatriotic Obama told us all that was about.

"Told" Or "Sold"?

So explain this phenomenon. Explain to us why the Democrats in this latest budget conference charade are so intent on reversing the sequestration cuts that made possible even the modest budget deficit reductions Obama keeps crowing about. When they occurred you'd have thought the world was ending. The same happened with the latest government shutdown. That should become the "new normal" if there needs to be one.

Lets come up with a plan to deal with the latest "emergency" debt. We went from a $10 trillion national debt under Bush to a $17 trillion and counting debt under Obama in less than 5 years. Is that the "new normal"? It's okay to pile more and more debt on future generations? More government is NOT the answer. Surely you can see that.

Vote It," "Like" It, "Tweet" It, "Pin " It, "Share It" With Your Followers. Time to let em read it and keep reading it.

As Always,

The Frog Prince
